Best to use Emirates, QATAR etc. - staff are very polite and considerate. More leg room and food and beverage much better quality - cheaper! And personal effects do NOT go missing!

FAQs for booking flights from Australia to Singapore

  • How far is the airport from the major tourist spots in Singapore?

With so much to see, there is no single tourist area in Singapore. However, thanks to the city’s public transport, many of the best tourist sites are only 1h away. This includes the The Singapore Botanic Gardens and nearby Orchard Road, Marina Bay Sands and the downtown area, and the eastern walking trails of the Central Water Catchment, including an entrance where you can begin the TreeTop Walk.

  • Do I need a visa to go to Singapore?

As an Australian passport holder, you do not need to apply for a visa to visit Singapore on business or tourism, as long as you're only there for 90 days and your passport is still valid for another 6 months. You may need to provide evidence that you have sufficient funds for the duration of your stay, and that you have purchased return or onward travel tickets.

  • Where can I find cash in the Changi Airport?

You can purchase some of the local currency, the Singapore Dollar, all around the Changi Airport at the currency exchange services, or withdraw from the ATMs in the Arrivals Area. In downtown Singapore you will be able to use your credit or debit cards, however, most shopping locations or restaurants require a S$ 20 (A$ 21.50) minimum spend or charge a 10% transaction fee. As you travel further out of the city, or if you want to enjoy some of the famous Singapore street-food vendors, you will need to carry cash.

  • Is there anything to do at the Singapore Airport?

Your trip to Singapore starts at the Changi Airport. The airport shopping centre, Jewel Changi, is renowned for its beautiful gardens and walkways, some of the most popular being the Butterfly Garden, the hedge maze at the Canopy Park, or the Crystal Garden in the Central Piazza. The airport also has a fully equipped movie theatre, and curated art exhibitions displayed throughout the airport.

  • How does KAYAK find such low prices on flights from Australia to Singapore?

KAYAK is a travel search engine. That means we look across the web to find the best prices we can find for our users. With over 2 billion flight queries processed yearly, we are able to display a variety of prices and options on flights from Australia to Singapore.

  • How does KAYAK's flight Price Forecast tool help me choose the right time to buy my flight ticket from Australia to Singapore?

KAYAK’s flight Price Forecast tool uses historical data to determine whether the price for a flight from Australia to Singapore is likely to change within 7 days, so travellers know whether to wait or book now.

  • What is the Hacker Fare option on flights from Australia to Singapore?

Hacker Fares allow you to combine one-way tickets in order to save you money over a traditional return ticket. You could then fly from Australia to Singapore with an airline and back with another airline.

  • What is KAYAK's "flexible dates" feature and why should I care when looking for a flight from Australia to Singapore?

Sometimes travel dates aren't set in stone. If your preferred travel dates have some wiggle room, flexible dates will show you all the options when flying from Australia to Singapore up to 3 days before/after your preferred dates. You can then pick the flights that suit you best.

no problem with Emirates it was the underpricer subcontractor Who was ridiculous

Good food, real silverware, polite staff, smooth landing, charging plugs, good entertainment options.

Comfort and customer service from most if the crew was great. The crew reassigning passengers should consider the presence of infants when reassigning seats. Unfortunately a couple of oversized passengers were relocated next to us, making this segment a bit uncomfortable, as there was not only extra leg space required. I ended up swapping seats with my husband so our baby wouldn't be impacted. My husband travelled quite uncomfortable as the reassigned neighbour shoulder and arm ended up on my husband's seat

everything was great. I don't use on-board entertainment at all (I just read or sleep), but I appreciate that I couldn't hear anyone else's!

Flight was on time. Seats (economy) were very comfortable and food was excellent. The bad thing was that after landing it took an hour to reach arrivals. We had to wait 15mins to get off the plane and then had to board a bus which moved very slowly and took almost 30 minutes.

On this flight, about the last 2 hours the captain kept the cabin too hot. It appeared like the ac was off.

The entire crew went above and beyond. This was our first flight with our 3 month old, and they were accommodating and friendly. The crew is attentive and marks a HIGE difference to the regular runs with Avianca and LATAM.

Airline did not have enough vegetarian meals for all guests, and crew were not adequately trained to handle this.

Priority boarding for Silver and Premium Economy was very disorganised, in fact, non-existent.

The seat in economy class and legroom in Singapore airline are narrower than Korean airlines! I don’t have that comforting feeling flying with Singapore air as in the past!

Loved the airline with the exception of their carry on limitations. They enforce a strict 7 kilo limit for carry on baggage which is ridiculous. We traveled from SFO to SIN with carry on with no difficulty yet when we checked in Delhi they forced us to check the carry on bags. The weight of our carry on bags were 11 and 12 kilos and while they exceeded the limitations set by Singapore Airlines they were well under weight limitations set by may other carriers. Interestingly my wife and I were each allowed two 22 KG bags to check in addition to the 7 kg carry on for a total weight of 102 KG's. Our total weight with the one bag we planned to check and our two carry ons was 46 kgs.

Crew and service was excellent, but passengers should be offered a welcome drink before take off which did not happen. Food was very good. Unfortunately the lie-flat bed in business class was one of the most uncomfortable I have experienced. The configuration forces you to sleep with your legs at an angle instead of in a straight line, plus there is very little padding on the bed so it wasn't possible to sleep for more than 2-3 hours on an 18 hour flight. For what the airlines charges for a business class ticket their hard product leaves a lot to be desired.

Food could have been better. Too many passengers getting up and down all the time.

Delayed 1hour due to storm still didn't get window seat for third flight despite paying £240 extra to book them

Everything was great keep up the good work 😁, can't ask for more.

Flight from SFO did not include entertainment as it was not working the entire duration of the flight. Was informed that there would be a $350 voucher for the inconvenience. Uncertain how the voucher will be provided.

It was an average flight. I would have expected more from this airline. Food, seats, service, etc was just average. I just give them some extra points for offering free WiFi on board with just a Krisflyer account.

Check in was easy through self-check-in kiosks just like domestic flights. Staff onboard were fantastic. Some "book the cook" good options weren't great, others really good. Entertainment options a bit limited to what I've experienced on Qantas. Overall a good flight though, especially for the price.

The staff on Singapore Airlines was incredible. I would like to commend LS Reuben from my SQ37 flight on November 19th, 2024, from LAX to Singapore, for his outstanding service and care. During the flight, one of my earbuds—brand new and valued at nearly $300—fell out and became lodged in the box controlling the in-flight entertainment system. I was understandably upset, but Reuben went above and beyond to assist me in this tough situation. Reuben demonstrated exceptional determination and empathy. Instead of suggesting we wait for an engineer, he immediately took action, spending almost 30 minutes searching for the earbud. He even got down on the floor to ensure it was recovered. His genuine concern and persistence made all the difference and turned a frustrating situation into one where I felt truly valued as a passenger. Reuben is a shining example of the remarkable service that sets Singapore Airlines apart. His dedication and willingness to go the extra mile left a lasting impression, and I want to sincerely thank him for his kindness and professionalism.

Very good as always, stand out airline. The passengers whom choose to stuff baggage that otherwise should be checked-in is a real bother but that's not the airlines doing. A real frustration that passengers just don't want to check-in luggage. This is a pet hate unfortunately.

It’s a two prop flight so I had problems with my ears on re- entering ! But otherwise fine

I love flying with Qantas. There was no onscreen entertaining on this flight, and only a snack provided (not a meal) but still better than Jetstar or Virgin (in my opinion) so still happy.

Wheelchair assistance to move through the terminals and to/from the plane door was excellent. No vegan snack on the flight, only something with salami and cheese in it.

The old Plane had not been cleaned properly in a long time.

Planes was old - business class seats looked like they were installed in the 80s

Our baggage didn’t arrive with us on the plane. Need I say more?

I got upgraded from economy to business, and the experience was outstanding

I have taken this flight many times. It is ALWAYS late. Every time there is significant delay (1-3 hours) before boarding. It’s very consistent. Even after boarding the expected landing time was delayed twice. The seats are very narrow and cramped. Food is barely editable. Considering an economy ticket often costs about $2,000 it’s one of the worst services ever.

Boarding was over 3 hrs late and we didn’t land until almost 1:30am

Finishes were quite worn, including our very scratched up seatback. No entertainment available, and the WiFi (even for “ScootHub”) was very slow. Crew were somewhat friendly.

Food & lower the prices. Look at Air Asia food look better & affordable

Not a frequent user of their website booking. Booked my check-in baggage and only realized that I did not book my check in baggage for return flight. The receipt was not clear in identifying that as well. Was charged exorbitantly at check in counter. Bad taste for sure when it is a business trip and not leisure trip. Baggage was delayed for more than an hour at belt back in SG.

Boarding took forever. It's also weird that we paid more (for preferred seats) to get on the plane last. Inflight WiFi never worked the entire trip. I want my money back.

The cosmetic condition was pretty run down. The carpets were badly worn out. Even the paint on the wings was chipped and peeled! Looks like they are running these 787s to the ground..

WiFi didn’t work on both sectors so made killing time harder - planes clean modern and good flight crew - would do again if WiFi works

6hrs fly they dont give you a glass of water from seoul to singapore need to buy drink and food plus they charge for bag on international fly is always Free 1 bag from seoul to singapore is Not a local fly you are traveling true asia same story from singapore to Bali no water drink after payment for bag drink cost more the regular airline Well never use this company again we use regular company like Delta korea japan China and even scoot parent company Singapore Air

We had 2 attempts to land at Singapore Changing during a thunderstorm. Everything was delayed by 1 hour plus.

Boarding was not accordingly after front seat, bmf then back seat. This delayed for at least 40mins or more. The staff at Jakarta can do better. Is chaos at the entry to board the plane. This tarnished Scoot reputation when everyone was talking about it.

The crew was not customer oriented at all, even confrontational . The aircraft needs more attention to detail as far as comfort, and the 1 hour sitting at the gate with no air is inexcusable

Flight was fine but a domestic flight was called by Jetstar international. This meant going through immigration and custom scanning twice. Long queues were experienced which were frustrating. We were using a wheelchair and exit at Perth needed a scissor lift as no air bridge provided. No fast lane at Perth for wheelchair. The staff were helpful but this system is poor.

The crew were great. The seat was older than an old Holden with a big metal bar sticking right into my back. The passenger next to me complained that hers was the same. The pre purchase system for food was disappointing as the pie/quiche took 20 mins to warm up, arrived too hot and with no utensils. It was one of the most uncomfortable flights I've ever been on.

Not very good, no food and not drink ( caffe or tea). Never ever fly with jet star.

Fabulous I have no issues with JetStar great service always use them to fly

Flight was as expected - we got what we paid for which was a base fare

Hardly we had overweight and we were asked to pay $75. We were checked by a female and weight was alright

Unaware of charge for carry on until i got to gate

I got what I paid for - flight was clean, staff were friendly

I like that fare is cheap but because there's no amenities whatsoever. You get what you paid for.

There's a reason why fare is cheap, no amenities.
