Outer Banks hotels

Based on KAYAK hotel searches, the most popular destination is Virginia Beach (50% of total searches to Outer Banks). The next most popular destination is Kill Devil Hills (50%).

While there are plenty of water sports providers up and down the Outer Banks area, there are three or four that you will find in the town of Kitty Hawk. The Driftin Sands is a good choice for a hotel that will put you close to many of these providers.

There are three nice golf courses along Highway 158, near the town of Point Harbor just across the water from Kitty Hawk. Both The Beachwoods by Diamond Resorts and The Hilton Garden Inn Outer Banks/Kitty Hawk sit right on this highway and are just a short drive from all the courses. Each of these hotels also offer a fitness center and on-site parking.

With a location known for amazing waterfront properties, there are some great choices for high-end hotels in this area. One that sits right on the ocean and offers great amenities, like a pool and a hot tub, is The Cape Hatteras Motel. If you’re looking to travel during specific dates, it’s recommended to book your accommodation in advance to secure your preferred room and a good rate.

The Dare County Regional Airport (MQI) sits right in the center of the Outer Banks and makes a good place for business travelers to call home during their stay here. The Elizabethan Inn and The Scarborough Inn are both right down the road from the airport, and airport shuttles can be arranged.
