Pros:I loved the staff here - they were all friendly and helpful, and check-in and check-out were easy. The location was also great, and it is close to the beach.
Cons:This is an older hotel whose heyday (as the staff will tell you) was in the 60s and 70s. There are still incandescent bulbs in the fixtures, and the rooms clearly have not been updated in some time. That said, it was fine for what I needed - a place to crash on my vacation while I went out and did other things.

Pros:The room, the price we paid...everything. Great hotel and the kids love the pool. Loved the fact that they had life jackets available for them as well.
Cons:My kids didn't want to get out of the pool. Ever.

Pros:Suites have full kitchen and balcony. Nice large grassy area for pets and kids. Walk outs to the beach were rustic, to explore. Rooms were large. Pool and jacuzzi were great addition. Even complimentary breakfast.
Cons:This is not a walking town and nothing here is fancy. It is a "sea shanty" town. Know that going in and you won't be disappointed. Our room was not cleaned upon check in and it took two calls to get it cleaned. The beach walk outs could use some maintenance.

Pros:I loved that it's kind of at the end of the main drag, so when you get down to the beach there's not a million people and cars everywhere. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite (2 queen beds in one, 1 king bed in the other, pull out couch in the living room) which was absolutely perfect for our family of 5. They've got DVDs to rent for the night time, an indoor pool/hot tub, and even a little game room with some video games and a pool table. I found a better deal online than by calling directly...so we paid less for this incredibly comfortable stay than we would have for smaller quarters/less amenities than anywhere else I've ever stayed at Ocean Shores. The restaurant on site was phenomenal, as well.
