Set in the Lower Garden District, the Historic Streetcar is a family-owned boutique hotel that provides cozy accommodation for guests. Its rooms combine homely decor with modern comforts such as in-room air conditioning, free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs. Select rooms come with balconies.

Converted from two 1890s Victorian Townhouses, the hotel offers complimentary tea and coffee to start each day. Guests can enjoy morning coffees on the hotel’s second-floor garden patio. The hotel also comes with lots of nearby dining options situated only a few meters away. Cons:“Historical” does not mean to never keep up on needed renovations. Our AC barely turned on and it was a little run down.

Pros:I’m sure the place was ok as far as cleaniness goes. I didn’t make it that far.
Cons:As I was approaching the hotel there was an altercation happening. Turns out the front desk clerk was getting into a hot tempered altercation with another guest. The police were called. We were surprised to see that this was a family with two small children and a baby. When wanting to cancel my stay the clerk was extremely rude with a bad attitude. I’ve never experienced worse service.

Pros:Close to the convention center.
Cons:I found a bed bug crawling on the bed! Made for a very sleepless night, wondering when the next one was coming to get me. Their own website advertises that they serve a continental breakfast, but they do not, nor did they offer me any compensation for their false advertising after I complained multiple times. The walls in the room and bathroom were haphazardly painted in splotches of different colors, making me wonder if they're selectively trying to paint over some mold. It's a shame because the property could be a real gem if they just cleaned it up a bit and offered the breakfast as advertised.

Pros:location, price seemed attractive but delivered less than value
Cons:Room (24) was a real problem...led to a outdoor patio with two sets of sliding/french doors. Either this "room" is rented as a double at times, but during my stay two separate parties shared the unlocked "main" door to the patio. My door was so worn that it did not lock; this on an outdoor patio--you could just push the door in. Shades worn out; bathroom tiles missing, tub drain corroded, and shower controls did not function well. They do not advertise their check in time well, office staff seemed not too friendly.

Pros:Neighborhood seems safe. The trolley rails run right in front of the building; however, the trains weren't operating due to construction. There's a 24hr restaurant across the street and a BBQ & pizza place next door; there are 2 sushi restaurants and a CVS within a 10 minute walking distance.
Cons:you have to find a place to park in the street as there is no parking provided. We had to circle the neighborhood a few times before we found an open spot.
