The hotel’s stunning meeting facilities divide into four main areas, including smaller boardrooms and more impressive, larger event venues. The Cascade room is a no-frills facility, perfect for boardroom meetings with up to 20 people, whereas the Strathcona and Wainwright rooms seat 48 and 70 people, respectively, and impress with their wooden beam design and natural daylight. The biggest venue at this lodge is the Wapiti Longhouse where up to 99 people can celebrate under the wooden ceiling and with views of the mountain range. With access to the wine cellar, it is perfect for weddings as well.
Plonked amidst fir and spruce trees, a stay at this lodge gives guests the ultimate outdoor experience and feeling for a remote mountain lodge. The interior impresses with wooden beams, stone fireplaces, and dark leather furniture to emulate the ultimate cabin-in-the-woods feeling. Despite being close to shops, nightlife, and restaurants, guests get to spot elks and deer crossing the hotel premises every so often, and during hikes, you get to see even more of the area’s wildlife.
True to nature’s taste, the hotel’s restaurant specializes in smoked and roasted wild game, accompanied by seasonal vegetables and mushrooms. The dining room allows incredible views over the surrounding nature while enjoying high-quality food and wine from their own wine cellar. Additionally, the wooden beam ceiling construction dominates the interior. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and also features a kid-friendly menu as well as an extensive cocktail menu.
For a more casual get-together, guests can also conglomerate in the Sleeping Buffalo Lounge that welcomes with a large fireplace and smaller round tables, and is fashioned almost entirely out of wood. A high ceiling provides an airy atmosphere and there is access to an outside patio. Snacks inspired by the main restaurant’s cuisine can also be enjoyed here and Sunday through Friday from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, guests can benefit from the lounge’s Happy Hour with special rates. For sweet delights, also pop in to the Buffalo Mountain Café, which boasts homemade pies and desserts, muffins, and fresh pastries.
Throughout the year, the hotel features a wide array of activities for guests to enjoy and which can be organized by the hotel for your convenience. If you’ve come to explore all the beautiful biking trails surrounding the property, you can store your bike conveniently at this bike-friendly hotel. Other sports include canoeing, cross-country skiing, dog sledding, or sleigh rides. Horseback riding can also be organized, as can white water rafting. For group activities, also consider the Chef’s Table, where a professional chef shares kitchen secrets over wine and you receive a take-away gift bag.
